You want to know about demons?


    * Demons are basically handcuffed, and they know it.


    * possession is almost always a result of someone getting involved in some sort of occult practices, such as witchcraft, Wicca, tarot cards, and Ouiji boards.


    * Demons do not discriminate between intentions -- no matter how innocent -- and children lose the clear distinction between good and evil.


    * What makes the occult so dangerous is the fact that it is based upon something real -- the preternatural world of fallen angels, headed by Lucifer himself. Below him are the "choirs" of devils and demons who are a reverse mirror, in their fallen state, of the hierarchy of angels.


    * this entire dark spiritual world "cannot operate without permission from human beings.


    * Demons play by the rules, as it were. They can only enter a person when invited, and they will leave when subjected through the rite of exorcism to the authority of the Church. "All demons understand is authority.  Possessions cannot work until permission has been granted, the Church must be present, Church as in the bride of Christ.


    * as fallen angels, demons are smarter than any human being. The darkest demon is smarter than you and me.


    * A demon has the ability to know everything about the person they are possessing, including family members, and those who may enter the room to cast them out.


    * demons have no sense of humor.


    * Possession usually involves more than one demon;  one demon gets in and will help to create more invitations to other demons.   The more powerful ones have biblical names, and he often runs into demons with the same name, as if they had a kind of demonic family name. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation. (Mat 12:45)


    * The possession of an individual person is a perverse imitation of the Incarnation. "They know they've lost the war in heaven, now they've come to earth and are doing all they can to exert their power and be an obstacle to heaven." That's why demons experience some form of pain when they are exorcised --demons will often complain that "It burns." They have been deprived of the satisfaction of entering a body in imitation of the Word made flesh.



What Jesus has said of demons:

Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation. (Mat 12:45)



For Jesus had commanded the evil spirit to come out of the man. Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard, he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places. (Luke 8:29)



Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved." She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!" At that moment the spirit left her. When the owners of the slave girl realized that their hope of making money was gone ... (Acts 16:16-19)



You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that -- and shudder. (James 2:19)



    When Jesus rose early on the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had driven seven demons. (Mark 16:9)



    And also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out (Luke 8:2)



Demons can perform miracles:



They are spirits of demons performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of God Almighty. (Rev 16:14)
